BORN THAT GUY

(1999 - current) • (One-sheet)
Sam Bird: guitar, bass, vocals, keys
Joe Zizzo: drums, vocals
Jeremy Arambulo: bass, guitar, vocals, keys

Sam, Joe, & Jeremy formed Born That Guy upon meeting in New York in 1999, playing whenever Sam visited from Los Angeles. Throughout the 2000’s, Joe played in The Sleeping and Sam with The Outdoors. In 2010, they recorded their first album at a friend’s studio in New Jersey, with Joe & Jeremy relocating to LA soon after. “Caesar’s Head” was written & recorded sporadically between 2013-16 followed by “Three”, which was improvised & recorded live at Chicago’s Electrical Audio with Steve Albini & Taylor Hales. The “Freak Beacon” EP, from the “Three” sessions, is their latest release.

FLUORESCENT BEIGE

(2010 - current)
Jeremy Arambulo: vocals, guitar, drums, bass, keys

“I chose the ‘Fluorescent Beige’ moniker after discovering that amusing color in a depressing movie. I wasn’t fully comfortable writing & recording my own songs until I moved from New York to Los Angeles in late 2010. Music’s always felt like a necessary counterbalance to the silent medium of cartooning, a release valve to keep me sane after countless hours at the drawing table.”
